| We are about half way through kettles and it is going much better than last year. This Sunday our band will be providing a Christmas Festival and next Sunday the Songsters present their Cantata. LOM distribution, Christmas parties, advent candles and a partridge in a pear tree! Hope you are enjoying the season! God Bless You! PS: Have you heard? The Lieutenant is back! | | |
| Of course it is! Next Friday I get to become a kettle route driver (but I don't get their pay)! At the corps, we are working on a cantata for the songsters and a Christmas concert for the band. Add to that League of Mercy, Christmas parties, corps decorating, Home League sale, regional music rehearsals, Thanksgiving and only occasionally some Christmas shopping - and what do you get? Some guy living in a penthouse on Park Ave in New York making a fortune singing "Its the most wonderful time of the year". Christmas is my favorite time, but its a time management nightmare. I'm actually considering going to the local mall at 1am on the morning after Thanksgiving because I can get a couple of hours of shopping in before picking up my kettle workers! Enjoy the season, before you know it, it's gone! Happy Birthday Marine Corps! Happy Veterans Day to those who served! Have you hugged a Vet today? | | |

This past Sunday (April 29th), we enrolled 3 new soldiers and 2 new adherents! Was a great service, God gets all the praise! From l-r is Patty Franklin, Henry Morey, Linda Morey, Annette Foulkrod and Roger McNutt. Then we also installed our new Home League Secretary!
l-r The lovely and talented Captain Dawn Poff, HLS Sue Churchill and Major Paula Powell (Divisional Secretary for Women's Ministries). | | |
| We had a great Easter Weekend, but very tiring. Good Friday Service was at 6pm and we had 32 present, which was good considering that most of the DHQ folks were with the Hopper Family. Then on Saturday afternoon, Major's Hopper held their retirement ceremony at our corps. Comm's Obsorne and LTC's Laity officiated. We got to see Warren and Cindy Jones and kids and Cindy's parents. Great visit. Then several of Major Hopper's siblings stayed over for Easter. For Sunrise Breakfast this year we had a 'covered dish' meal. The food was great and I think everyone enjoyed getting to fix something different. I love monkey bread! Enrollment Sunday is April 29th. We are enrolling three new soldiers and two adherents! Praise The Lord! | | |
